While on the run from his troubles, he crosses paths with a wealthy woman who is running away from an unwanted fiancé. The narrative transforms into a chase thriller and romance as the two try to escape their pursuers together.
Production Insights
Director Sekhar Suri based the core concept on the Hollywood classic Roman Holiday (1953), intending to tell a story about an ordinary man falling in love with a princess. The kissing incident in the script was inspired by a real-life 1980 event where Indian actress Padmini Kolhapure kissed Prince Charles during his visit to India. While Suri originally wanted a tight, songless narrative, commercial industry pressures forced him to include musical numbers, a compromise he later felt hurt the film's execution.
